Hire Visa Holders respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what control you have. We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988.
What we collect
- Account info: name, email, password (hashed), and role (job seeker, employer, or recruiter).
- Profile data: for job seekers — visa class, work rights, languages, location, work history, CV. For employers — business name, contact name, phone, ABN, industry.
- Activity: jobs you view, save, or apply to; messages you send; subscription status.
- Technical: IP address, browser, device type, and approximate location, used to keep the Platform secure and to power analytics (Google Analytics 4).
How we use it
- To run the Platform (matching, messaging, applications, billing).
- To send transactional emails (verification, password resets, message notifications, application updates).
- To match candidates with relevant jobs using our AI matching system. Matching uses your profile data only — we don’t sell it.
- To prevent fraud and abuse.
Who can see your data
- Candidate profiles are private. Employers can only see candidate contact details after the candidate applies and the employer is on a paid plan.
- Employer profiles are public, but personal contact details (phone, email, contact name) are never published.
- Job listings are public and indexed by search engines — that’s how candidates find you.
Cookies and tracking
We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your language. We use Google Analytics for aggregate, non-personal traffic analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser at any time.
AI processing
Our matching system uses Anthropic’s Claude API to score candidate–job fit. Only the fields needed for matching are sent (skills, location, visa class, languages); your raw CV and personal contact details are never sent to third-party AI providers.
Data retention
- Accounts are kept until you delete them.
- Closed job listings are kept for 12 months for analytics, then anonymised.
- Transactional logs are kept for 7 years for tax and audit purposes.
Your rights
- Access, correct, or delete your data — sign in and use the dashboard, or email support@hirevisaholders.com.au.
- Export your data — available on request.
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you think we’ve mishandled your data.
Security
We use TLS for all traffic, hash passwords, store credentials and tokens server-side only, and segregate sensitive operations behind authenticated routes. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password.
